Seconded, mine got rid of actual in store ordering and replaced it with kiosks that are basically just a giant interface for the mobile app years ago. I’ve heard most of their drive through orders are from mobile orders too now, but that is purely anecdotal just from chatting with the guy at the drive through window while I was waiting after placing a mobile order in the parking lot.
It sucks that that’s the best option, but if we’ve made it to that point I personally would rather just use the website without extra steps. Not a fan of PWAs.
Jolla is definitely interesting, but search around, there are caveats.
One notable thing is that until pretty recently they were on a subscription model for OS updates, that turned a lot of people off. I get the need for continued funding, but definitely not something I’d want to deal with on my phone.
Also, for me personally, my phone is partially for work too so it needs to be compatible with that or else I honestly probably don’t really even need a phone. Jolla has some preliminary support there, but there’s no way it could pass our requirements for MDM compliance at my company and I doubt it would for most others. There are things that are non-optional there in relation to audit requirements that a lot of very different companies all have to comply with and it’s just not compatible with the idea. That’s probably going to be the major sticking point for any smaller players trying to break into the mobile market.
I might consider a Jolla tablet if they gave it another shot, but we do have a lot more options in the linux non-phone portable space.
It looks like if you purchase the Tuta low end premium plan (~3.50 USD / month) you can use a custom domain and that could help you out with switching around in the future, but yeah it doesn’t help you today if you’re on an @gmail.com address.
Gmail (as a service) is definitely one of those that is really hard to replace once you’ve bought in.
You have your file associations set incorrectly or at least not optimally right now. NFO files are text only files that usually tell you about what you just downloaded, your system is set to treat them as something else and did the wrong thing. Text only files are usually harmless.
Like… Which YouTube conspiracy videos? Hard to find ones that aren’t a mouthpiece for some sort of political party, I could use some expert recommendations.
That’s kind of the thing, we want to think they’re a bunch of sexless losers, but the basic tenets of advice you get from the manosphere will probably get you laid if you follow it. Following manosphere advice works because it’s the exact same advice you just laid out but packaged in a more attractive and focused manner. It just happens to be with a side of right wing politics and more than a bit of misogyny.
This part should have been a lot more visible and not just hidden as part of a generalized forum post. The error the individual users got doesn’t do anything to make it clear what the user or server owners need to do.
As an intentional change by Plex, presenting basic guidance as to what the error theyve caused means should be the absolute bare minimum. This is the piece that annoys me most.
