Yeah idk some people say it’s easier but that doesn’t make any sense to me, it’s easy af to take a screenshot and even crop it too. Sounds way harder to take a picture and then upload that camera image instead but im autistic so idk if non-autists struggle with it or something

Watches have always been a status symbol
Sure but we have phones now. Doesn’t matter what your status is, you dont need a watch. It used to be a status symbol as being a person who needed to keep track of the time because you were busy. But nowadays that’s nonsense.
Well yeah i guess i think jewelry is dumb wcyd
Well fair enough, idk about having a wristwatch on while rock climbing but if it works it works

1·1 day agoThe problem with paying is that it doesn’t solve the fundamental economics. Marginal cost of copying software is near zero, fractions of a cent. So there’s just no way to justify economically charging anything more than a nominal fee for software. The entire concept of charging to allow people to download stuff is simply pure greed, and paying a little bit won’t stop the greed in the slightest. And a lot of people simply enjoy creating software, so there’s always going to be a foss alternative.

10·2 days agoExactly, ai is awesome at bullshitting which is what CEO do for a living. Just replace the CEO with AI and the company wouldn’t feel a difference.

5·5 days agoI know this sounds like a very stretched analogy at first glance, but it’s like a baker trying to prosecute people for smelling their products from outside. But if you think about it, these media companies are literally sending their information out into the air and getting upset when people just listen to that information. Like a smell, internet data is just out there in the air and it’s just unreasonable to prosecute people for either smelling or downloading stuff that’s permeating the atmosphere. Maybe tape recording radio songs is a tighter analogy but it’s the same idea.
“people” meaning one troll? Yeah so downvote report and move on. Now everyone else on the thread has to answer for one troll shithead comment??
You know we double tapped that one school, right? an hour after the first bomb the school was full of emergency responders and parents searching for their kids and a second bomb hit while that was happening.

Technology@lemmy.world•‘I want to cancel’: YouTube Premium quietly hikes its US prices for the first time in three years, forcing many users to consider the unthinkableEnglish
12·12 days agoMaybe because im a millennial but it’s easier than ever to have all the music you could ever want downloaded and playing off local storage, idk i don’t get it i guess it sucks listening to some online playlist and every few songs one is just stuff you’d never choose to listen to.
Because winning an offensive war is much much harder than winning a defensive war. Nobody defends anything better than they defend their homeland. Same reason russia can’t win the war in Ukraine. That’s why the first gulf war in early 90s was won too. US was fighting to defend Kuwait from Iraqi invasion. Once the US forced Iraqi army back to their side of the border, they negotiate a ceasfire. They only fought the war defensively alongside Kuwaiti fighters in Kuwait.
I mean they’ve bombed the shit out of countries before, e.g. Vietnam. It didn’t win them any wars since WW2 as you said. And yes there’s definitely massive corruption happening in the MIC, no doubt. Im just saying, if it were up to trump he would have nuked tehran, someone had to tell him it wasn’t gonna happen. (He literally talked about nuking a hurricane at a public televised press conference in the past.)
