  • The problem with parenting advice is every kid is different. This becomes clear after raised a gaggle of them. Anyone with one child that is giving advice is clueless.

My suggestion is not to give that type of child options. Tell them what’s happening. Then do it. May that not work any better and ignores why you may have started giving them choices.

You didn’t specify an age but typically choices are best for later development. Toddlers are terrorists and one should never negotiate with a terrorist.

    Makes dumb people feel smart.

Gives people who lack agency in life something they use to look down on others, despite no one caring.

For a tiny majority that have them. It is a useful red flag for your loved ones, that the slide of mental illness continues.

They secretly desire to be seen as hackers by others; reality is they are hacks.

They lack the ability to enjoy self deprecating humor and handle feelings but this is most often expressed by downvoting.

The inky blackness of terminal screens to sates their inner emo.

  • If someone was claiming they were working on making a game that contained all games, we would all laugh at them because we know gaming well enough to understand there absurd. But when we talk about computer intelligence like that, some people are like, “well, maybe” because they don’t understand computer intelligence.

  • Why isn’t there a similar service for TV and movies?

Because Steve Jobs died before he could hypnotize the executives into do it.

Only half kidding, people forget that’s how we got all the music labels together, it was Apple iTunes Store which later became streaming.

There were a few weird awkward music stores but Apple did it better and this was early 2000’s when their brand was barely recovering from near bankruptcy.

Netflix streaming didn’t launch until 2007 and didn’t really take off until 2011, the same year Jobs died.

Netflix was the only one that was positioned to do it but they couldn’t pull it together because they didn’t have the reality distortion field that Jobs had. Netflix had to push into original programming instead to survive and the brand has long since enshittified.

Can’t help but wonder if whatever pitch Jobs used to sell record labels couldn’t have been reworked to convince the movie studios.

  • You use(d) Facebook to stay connected. I use Facebook (with any empty profile) to engage/troll Trump supports. We are not the same.

But seriously, it’s interesting to use it to delve into the right wing zeitgeist.

For example, do not believe the narrative that they are upset about the Epstein list. They’ve been given marching orders to blame it on Biden “because if there was something there why didn’t Biden release it” and “a liberal just withheld the grand jury testimony, so it’s their fault” – don’t bother with the reality or nuance around of any of this, it doesn’t matter to them. They are a cult.

These are the type of people who would dismiss their own child coming forward with moleststion claims and allowing the abuse to continue. I am not exaggerating here. I had one demand physical evidence of Trump raping children; literally demand child porn be distrusted to them before they’ll be convinced. reshift the goalpost.

  • No. Democracy has been redefined to be that but the orignal definition is direct voting on issues. Some state have this via voter initiatives.

We have the technology to create a democracy and there is no reason to muddle and gaslight ourselves into thinking a representative system is the same thing.

We need to stop reject the notion that it’s necessary because people don’t have the time to understand the bills. We have plenty of evidence they our representatives don’t bother understanding it because their incentives are not aligned with needing to understand it. They just carve themselves out of, as the legislation being discussed here does.
