Nah I have seen the entire story and its follow ups. He straight up bit the rightwing talking point hook.

Its a hard choice because I do like the work they are doing and I like paying for the suite of tools all in one. But I feel like the tools are half baked and missing a ton of features which is to be expected by an up and coming company. I dont know if I should continue to support them to reach their goal or just move onto another company and delay having an strong competitor in the market. Them having half owner ship in a swiss non profit is pretty much the only thing giving me strong trust in the product not getting enshittified but with the crappy AI getting slapped in its testing my resolve.
I dont think they’re bots. They are angry people what you’re reading is human expression raw and uncensored.
I know i am well aware of what happened. I dont think hes a right winger but this take was so far off reality it was alarming. Go read through the reddit thread where people push him to defend his statement and he cant.
In my most charitable interpretation of the situation he is symapthic to the right wing narative at a time where any sane person shouldnt have been. I’m still a proton subscriber but Idk if I will renew in december.
This seems like more of a mistake than a sign of malicious or misaligned intention. Proton publish their stats about data requests, how many they comply with how many they fight and how many they win. They fight a majority of them probably more than most other companies.
The CEO needs to go his ‘republicans fight for the little guy’ comments are so toxic and will get brought up everytime something like this happens and its hard to trust a company that has that kind of a person running it.
Some dont even allow non clear bags to be brought in.
In email its pretty good. I hate writing polite emails and its great at softening the tone.
I havent seen the exact data on this but i would say yes. Amd current gen CPUs are very strong right now preformance wise especially when directly compared against intel.
Intel has its core ultra line up which improved its power usage a lot. This isnt great for intensive workloads because there is more efficeny cores and less preformance cores but its great for general everyday use on battery.
When you’re plugged in power usage no longer matters so having an Intel CPU sucks because yoy are getting less preformance for your dollar.
Also amd is more price to preformance and still has good battery life so you really do get the most value.
I’d probably just warranty the CPU and assume it was a defect instead of blame the entire company.
But yeah amd is the better choice for everything atm except x86 power efficiency laptop chips.
As a Linux user btw and a person who does not like LLM AIs I am trying to give the new tech a chance while im at work forced to use a windows laptop. First I gave Edge a fair shot and its just not as good as firefox and chrome it has 1 features i liked split view. I did not find much use for the sidebar AI and it fucked up most tasks I gave it. Now that Copilot is in the firefox sidebar I can go back to testing it and see if its gotten better since when i was last using edge.
Suicidal take: Copilot is kinda useful I like having it available at the press of a button. I cant be fucked searching the internet for everything and its really useful to be able to get quick answers in the format i want. I would like to have Krunner with a fast response AI plugin on my system because windows copilot implementation is bad its only GenAI instead of providing hard functions like krunner.
Black people twitter is such a cesspit.
Everyone is a paid troll except you. Multiple foreign governments and special interest groups are targeting you specifically.
Its really gonna be over isnt it. The anonymous free web is actually dying. Rip www you were quite shit but had some good moments.
Nz is definitely going to follow aus and the uk. Our bald egghead pm has expressed a lot of interest in this idea.
How can ai be destroying jobs I havent seen a single good implementation except maybe dev work but even then its not speeding anything up.
Nah its going to rock bottom
Ok I was curious what this was actually about so I read this review https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/a/jack-douglas-3/the-jewish-japanese-sex-and-cookbook-and-how-to/ and now im even more confused. Is this a real story of a guy raising wolves in the mountains with his Japanese wife?
I couldnt find where he was from so feel free to correct me if you know. But my guess is that Andy is American or at least has lived in America for enough years to know about American politics.
