Yeah, pretty much my takeaway. It’s not OF piracy or even enforcement of copyright, it’s out of control automation.
It’a all going to boil down to heuristics and phrasing. Republicans are sending content more likely to be identified as spam OR reciepients are flagging it as spam more often.
This isn’t about Republican officials using Gmail, it’s about Republicans targeting Gmail addresses.
If you don’t want to be identified as spam, don’t send spammy content. Really that simple.
I’d rather see them sanction China over bullshit iOS and Android apps, games, and false advertisements.
Encouraging drinking and driving seems more like a Constantine thing…

My prediction is that it’s just the latest buzzword on the pile of buzzwords and by 2028 a new one will pop up and the only time you hear “AI” will be in the line of “Hey, remember when everyone was talking about AI?”
Before AI it was “The Cloud”. Before the cloud it was “Virtualization”. They’re saying all the same things about AI that they said about the cloud and virtualization…
I guess the real money is inventing the new buzzword that sales people can say will make your business faster, more agile, and more efficient. :)

I see the same push where I work and I cannot get a good answer to the most basic question:
“Why?”
“We want more people using AI.”

I used to sell books in a college town and one day, this guy came in looking a little… off. He was attempting to dress up, but his suit was maybe 20 years out of date.
He looked and sounded like a burnout case, what my friends and I affectionately called “crispy around the edges”, he was a little bit fried. But he was making an attempt, you know?
“Hey man, do you have any resume books?”
“Sure, they’re right over here.”
“Do you have one that can tell me how to cover a gap in my resume?”
“Well, sure, but it depends on how big of a gap and what you were doing.”
