It is weirder to me that people back shit like this up. I have zero desire to keep a backup of chat and random images people have sent me.

Shame it is only 128 MP3s, I’m guessing that is what the audio is streamed at.
I agree but mixcloud isn’t far behind it I don’t reckon. Especially as they used to have unlimited free uploads. I have 60 or more mixes on there myself and I’m just a bedroom DJ
I doubt anyone cares at all. You get a fair amount of snobs who will lock their files up and ask for specific trades or for bandcamp vouchers in exchange for access to what they have but I don’t converse with those types personally. If I see them I usually block them from downloading anything of mine out of principle because I can’t stand that attitude.
However everyone else I’ve interacted with there are more concerned about the quality and don’t really care of origin or anything like that.
Love soulseek but please do try and share some stuff and leave you computer on from time to time so that other people can search / download what you are sharing. Whilst it isn’t a requirement and you won’t get banned for not doing so it is basic etiquette in my opinion and without people sharing resources like these will slowly die.
In terms of clients I would suggest trying both out. The majority of people recommend nicotine+ but personally I don’t understand it, I find the official client much better even though it has a few quirks mainly due to searching and navigating others files seems to be a lot better in my experience.
I feel your pain man.
All the tutorials I have read and watched say to “just” do x, y and then z and it will all work fine! It never does. I have spent multiple hours trying to get a few different repacks to work in a few different ways and it never just works as it supposedly should.
I got one game to run once after 4 hours and thought j had it figured out then the next day it didn’t work again xD
I now have two machines, one running Linux and one running windows for my DJ software and repacks, that doesn’t help you but that is the best solution I found xD
Air VPN has port forwarding, been using them for years.
