Stoner/doom metal is honestly closer to progressive+hard rock than metal beyond sounding like early Sabbath
You can’t kill The Metal
The Metal will live on
Punk Rock tried to kill The Metal
But they failed, as they were smite to the ground
New Wave tried to kill The Metal
But they failed, as they were stricken down to the ground
Grunge tried to kill The Metal Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
They failed, as they were thrown to the ground
They can’t stop us Let em try For heavy metal We will die 🤘

“My favourite bands are past their prime and anything new cant possibly be as good”
Yeah that’s bullshit, there’s so much great music popping up all the time
Lies, I still listen to dirtbag punk music like FIDLAR, the Mean Jeans, and Lambrini Girls.
Similarly, math noise rock seems to be alive and well with those weird polka-dotted fellows Angine de Poitrine and electronic noise rock groups like Black Dresses.
Anamanaguchi was also back with a rock soundtrack for the new Scott Pilgrim games, more good rock tracks that aren’t strictly metal.
Similarly, math noise rock

Angine de Poitrine are fucking awesome, definitely check them out
Just heard about them this week - silly stuff!b
But a shame it’s all loop based (or seems to be…) - I get tired of being locked in 16 bar cycles
You’re right in that this person is out of the loop, but they’re right that the mainstream has moved past hard rock for the same social signifiers they used hard rock for. It you want angst and rebellion, putting on an oldies band like rolling stone won’t have the same impact that it did back then.
I got heavy metals in my blood
I’ve got blisters on me fingers
Oh wow, there’s a Mandela effect for whether this is “me” or “my”.
Maybe that’s the inspiration for “I, Me, Mine”
Yeah, might be a I wanna be special thing. I listened to a Spotify hard rock playlist s while back and it was anything but what I would consider hard rock.
Me in Minecraft when i upgrade my pick
I completely agree with their premise
