“Music legend” as in no-one outside of America is sure whether he’s a real person or a character in something.

hes credited with pretty much birthing the country-rap genre that has exploded in recent years. id say creating a genre is pretty legendary. and he had i think 3 hits just off of devil without a cause and a couple more after that and even before he blew up in popularity he was a detroit legend. there was a time he was giving advice to eminem himself on enunciating his words more clearly so everyone can understand what hes saying

        detroit legend.

The Insane Clown Posse are more Detroit legends than kid rock is and people love hating on ICP!

They’ve done more for Detroit than that trust fund having fake outlaw ever could do.

half of his best songs are just riffs he ripped from better bands (American badass is just a Metallica song with shitty lyrics).

I’m from Detroit, people have mixed feelings for him and always have. Gonna need a citation on the Eminem bit, who is nearly universally liked in Detroit.

there was a story eminem went to a kid rock signing and asked kid rock what he thought about ems mixtape

im inclined to believe it because eminem was on devil without a cause about a year before slim shady lp dropped

THAT’S Kid Rock? Looks like a guy who will yell at kids just for riding their bikes past his house, while holding a shotgun.

In fairness, he’s always looked like a national spokesperson for gas station boner pills. He just looks like it even more now.

They’re both playing up an aesthetic, but bonerpill up there is oblivious to the fact that his time has passed.

Limp Bizkit’s last album was 2021 after working on it for 9 years, was called “Still Sucks” and had new music. They’re working on their next one now.

Kid Rock released “Greatest Hits: You Never Saw Coming” in 2018 with zero new music and has done nothing since.

I’m not a fan of either but at least one of them is doing work instead of grifting.

Fred Durst is self aware of how cringe he was and instead of trying to be cool, he’s just kinda leaning into it now, old man Durst is awesome af, young Fred Durst is a cringe lord.

I used to like Limp Bizkit because I thought they were funny, like in a crude, fart joke kind of way. Then I saw them at a festival where they refused to start their set until the video crew shut off the stage feed, you know, basically the only way people at the back of the crowd or in accessible seating could see wtf was going on onstage. Later on in the show, they also got pissed at the people in the accessible seating area for not standing up. I no longer like Limp Bizkit, even in the crude, fart joke kind of way.

Bawitaba was big on the radio back in the 90s when I was a dumb kid.

We liked it because it had an anti authoritarian sound on some tracks:

‘Paint the town red, and paint the sheriff’s wife white’.

That got a giggle from us.

The tracks in between were lack luster, even alt-country.

The next album was a no-buy.

He had a bit role in Joe Dirt as well, that my friend group was super in to the year it released for some reason. We weren’t even southern or country, I think we just liked mocking the aforementioned designations.

      I am serious!

I know the name kid rock. I don’t know a single song of his, like I don’t know that it is his at least. And while I have seen his face recently, I couldn’t tell you who that people in the meme was without the label.

I seriously don’t know that guy at all. I am not denying his legend title to be mean or rude to him. I just think I would know a music legend.

Pretty much all of the NAGA celebs are “people who you hadn’t thought about for least 20 years who are bitter no one cares about them anymore”

Whoa, is he heterochromatic? Never noticed before. (Then again, I try to be exposed to him as little as possible.)
